DON’T CURSE THE BLANKET

DON’T CURSE THE BLANKET

don’t curse the blanket

it kept you warm

when all around like bees in a swarm

stayed together

because nakedness created a storm

as leaves still fell outside, from trees

when seasons changed.

even your mind had to be re-arranged

into different phases

so the past would not be erased

to suit the new normal

or to think it okay

to smell like a corps beginning to decay

there in the HBlocks

day by day by day.

don’t curse the blanked

it kept you dry

hid your tears

hid your sighs

covered your loneliness

from blacked out skies

kept your dreams alive

helping you survive

the wickedness of uniformed disguise!
