THE DANCER

The dancer came into my room
and danced away the gloom.
The piper came in through the wall
and left his tune out in the hall
but, sang such songs of delight

Then, the devil came into my room
he gave me such a fright
I begged him go, he begged his stay,
to be with me all the night

Then, the angels came and took his name
they put him through the floor
then opening wide my empty room
bid me peace for ever more!
